Success is a concept universally embraced but individually defined.

Our definition of success truly depends on our individual goals. For example, your goal might be monetary, a physical accomplishment or a moral achievement.

To flesh out this topic, we are adding a few comments made by famous and successful people in diverse fields – similar and familiar concepts to those put forward by the CelebrityExperts(R) in this book.

“Success is to be measured not so much by the position that one has reached in life as by the obstacles which he has overcome while trying to succeed”
~Booker T. Washington

“You can succeed best and quickest by helping others to succeed”
~Napoleon Hill

“The difference between a successful person and others is not a lack of strength, not a lack of knowledge, but rather a lack in will”
~Vince Lombardi

“Nothing can stop the man with the right mental attitude from achieving his goal; nothing on earth can help the man with the wrong mental attitude”
~Thomas Jefferson

In our New Economy, the acquisition of success has been reformatted somewhat by business and industry even though its principles remain the same. The Electronic Revolution has changed the economic landscape as much as the Industrial Revolution. We now live more and more in “real time” and expect others to do the same. This era of instant communication has changed the ways in which we communicate and expect responses.

To succeed today, it is useful, perhaps essential, to have a mentor. Errors will be made, but to minimize them will speed up your journey. The CelebrityExperts(R) in this book will help you along the way. They have been there and know the road. Who would be better to guide you? They will illuminate your path to The Soul Of Success…

About Dr Olivia Ong

Founder and CEO of Dr Olivia Lee Ong, The Heart-Centred Doctor

Dr Olivia Ong, known as the Heart-Centred Doctor, is a pain physician with 15 years of clinical experience and an expert in resilience and burnout.

After a severe car accident in 2008 left her a paraplegic, Dr Ong was told she would never walk or practice medicine again. Dr Ong found out exactly what it’s like on the other side of the healthcare system. She spent years as a patient in hospitals and rehab facilities in Australia and US in an attempt to regain some of the capabilities that were torn away from her. Little did she know she was going to get a whole lot more than she’d bargained for. After an intensive three-year recovery process, she walked again. Today she shares her experience with others.

Among other things, coming out the other side of such dark period in her life inspired Dr Ong to start a business to address the unspoken toll that doctors bear when they don’t find the support they need. As a high-performance leadership coach and mentor for doctors over the past two years, she runs programs helping doctors transform their lives, moving from burnout to balance.

Being able to speak from her own unique life experiences gives her presentations a deeply authentic feel, and her warm approach has made Dr Ong a sought-after speaker and online educator.

Dr Ong is the author of The Heart-Centred Doctor, which features a foreword from one of her mentors Jack Canfield, co-author of the Chicken Soup for the Soul series and The Success Principles: How to Get from Where You Are to Where You Want to Be. Dr Ong also co-authored a book “Soul of Success Volume 3” with Jack Canfield, which was launched in September 2022.

Her vision is for her company “The Heart-Centred Method Institute Pty Ltd” to be the leading global personal growth and professional development company for physicians and clinicians in healthcare so that they can be well rounded, heart-centred healthcare workers. Dr Ong is also the Owner and Founder of “Heart-Centred Books”.

Dr Ong has been featured in and written for Thrive Global, Yahoo Finance, International Business Times Singapore and Australian Business Journal. Dr Ong has regular appeared in media such as Sky News, Studio 10 and Ticker TV, as well as speaking at industry leading events including Australasian New Zealand College of Anaesthesia and Faculty of Pain Medicine, where she talks about physician burnout and how mindfulness and self-compassion can transform chronic pain.

Originally from Singapore, Dr Ong now resides in Melbourne with her husband and two young children. Her forthcoming children’s book “Jo-Jo The Kind Sloth: A Children’s Book about Self-Compassion” which she is co-authoring with her son Joseph Lee, is due to be released on World Kindness Day, Sunday 13 November 2022.
